Kin + Carta (KTC), a digital transformation consultancy, has launched a new Data Labs business. It will join the firm’s three other business lines: management consulting, software engineering, and digital marketing.
The London and Chicago-based firm’s new “Data Labs” business will deliver data-related innovation and expertise to its global clientele.
“Data insights and AI-driven applications will allow leaders to make smarter business decisions and provide end-customers better user experiences,” Kelly Manthey, group chief executive for Kin + Carta Americas.
Rather than providing point-in-time data science or generalized data platforms, KTC will apply a “product mindset” that delivers ongoing, integrated, and tangible solutions. According to the firm, data-as-a-product means treating data like an asset that is managed and directed on the basis of human needs and feedback. This approach leads to enterprise-wide data fluency that enables all of an organization’s teams to access and use data to optimize decision-making.
“Just as agile software development changed the way enterprises deliver digital experiences, the data-as-a-product mindset changes how we all think about data,” said Cameron Turner, VP of data science at Kin + Carta. “We are focused on enterprise-wide data fluency, enabling everyone to access and apply data to make better, faster, and fewer decisions.”
The business line will support clients in three areas. The first is data product strategy and enablement, which allows companies to unleash the power of their data through governance strategy, maturity assessment, platform modernization, cloud architecture, experimentation design, and product adoption approach offerings.
Second is product management for data, which covers development methodology, technical project management, and managed services.
Third is data product delivery, which deploys AI-powered systems to maximize return-on-investment, with offerings in data marketplace design, paid media optimization, personalization engineering, interactive dashboards and apps, and fraud monitoring.
The Data Labs launch follows KTC’s acquisition of Cascade Data Labs, a boutique Portland, OR consulting firm specializing in data and analytics. The December 2020 acquisition added a team of more than a dozen data experts.
KTC has more than 1,600 professionals across a dozen offices in the US, UK, Argentina, and Singapore.
