Customerland? I thought I was going to TheCustomer?
To quote Ferris, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it” which explains (in part) why you’re here.
I’ll elaborate. In September of 2019 we started what began as a blog – a place to gripe and opine about things in the customer engagement space. Over the course of time our little blog grew and started looking and feeling more like friends sharing their thoughts on a common topic. And then it started to feel a little bit like a community. And then it started looking and acting like a legitimate publication.
And while I have a background in media, publishing and marketing, I have to confess, I don’t think I ever envisioned TheCustomer as anything more than a niche – a tiny corner of the B2B universe where only a few curious souls dared (or cared) to wander. But I was wrong.
Since then we’ve spoken with, built relationships with and collaborated with some of the smartest people in business and some of the most powerful brands in their respective spaces. We’ve hosted them on our podcast (aptly named “Customerland”), we’ve met them, published them and started thinking about what this effort could become if we really put our all behind it.
It was an interesting question and a complicated set of answers started to emerge. One thing was for sure, though – we didn’t and don’t want to do the same ole. For lots of reasons.
